Public Lecture: The Ethics of Autonomous Weapon Systems
Tomislav Bracanović delivered a public lecture titled The Ethics of Autonomous Weapon Systems at the Metel Ožegović City Library in Varaždin on 31 March 2026. The lecture introduced autonomous weapon systems and the basic principles of just war theory, presented the main humanitarian argument in their favour, and examined three common ethical objections, highlighting both their weaknesses and possible counterarguments. Tomislav Bracanović appeared on the Third Programme of Croatian Radio in the program Ethical Attaché (23 April 2026). Book Discussion: Ethics of Artificial Intelligence
A public discussion of Tomislav Bracanović’s book Ethics of Artificial Intelligence was held as part of The 3rd International Conference on the Relation between Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences, and Humanities, Zagreb School of Economics and Management, Zagreb, 2025. The discussion featured presentations by Nino Kadić (Moral status in synthetic and emulated AI), Viktor Ivanković (A target in motion: Extending the ethical AI landscape) and Tomislav Bracanović (The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence: Self-reflection and self-critique).
